RHEOLOGICAL ADDITIVES
The range of rheological additives are made from minerals specially selected for their high rheological and thixotropic properties.
They can be used in paints and coatings, offering quick dispersibility and effective thixotropic thickening, viscosity control and spreadability.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
All products offer stable suspensions that are not affected by extreme changes in pH or temperature.
The rheological additive is made with high-grade sepiolite powder which modifies the aqueous system where it is added. It provides thixotropic properties to the system, improving stability and various advantages.
Available thickeners effectively create collodial thixotropic gels in ionic and nonionic aqueous solutions. This thixotropy results from attracting a load to the surface of the particle, hydrogen bonding and liquid entrapment within a chain-style net. These phenomena allows available thickeners to become a gel in static conditions but become thin, less viscous when shaken or sheared. When shearing is stopped, viscosity increases gradually as a new structure is formed.
